Women have less access to decision-making power, and are less able to have their
unique and valuable perspectives represented.
7. Gender relations are dynamic - not static. They are influenced and changed over time by
changes in economics, politics, technology, education, environment, the influence of
other cultures and the media, mass advocacy, crises and conflict.
8. Gender relations are created by society. They are changed and can be changed by
society. They are perpetuated by some forces and changed by other forces.
9. Women (and other oppressed groups) have resisted and organised to change their
situation throughout history.
